Experience
I attended the University of Chicago. I graduated and obtained my bachelor's degree in Psychology. I later completed a Teaching master's degree. I have worked with young children (infant to high school aged), for the past fourteen years. I have experience teaching PreK through 4th-grade students in Chicago and Sacramento. We used Everyday Mathematics and Balanced Literacy as a part of our curriculum. I have been a speaker and facilitator for educational and civic organizations. I also have experience mentoring other teachers. I tutor a multitude of subjects, but the ones I enjoy the most are Reading, Phonics, Writing, Study Skills, Public Speaking, and Elementary Math. I also tutor in Essay Editing, Literature, College Essays, Study Skills and Organization, English, AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, and Test Prep. I strive to bring a student's passions into the educational experience. I believe that we can improve areas that a student is struggling in by finding ways to utilize hands-on activities that are relevant and engaging. In my free time, I love to travel, read novels, write songs, create Pinterest boards, and blog.
